Police Raid Pharmacies, Arrest Three Operators for Alleged Illegal Distribution of Controlled Drugs

Police have arrested three pharmacy operators on allegations of distributing controlled drugs. Acting on confidential information regarding the distribution of medicines intended for controlled use, a joint team from the Drug Administration and Control Bureau and the Department of Drug Administration raided pharmacies in Kathmandu Valley.


According to spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Karki, Nirash Kumari Mahato, 26, operator of Gogo Pharmacy in Ward No. 8 of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, Sarlahi Barthawa Municipality-9, was apprehended on Wednesday. Similarly, Raju Sipai, 33, operator of Tisa Pharmacy in Ward No. 9 of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9, Bhaktapur, and Satendra Yadav, 20, residing in Sarlahi Malangwa Municipality-10, were also arrested. They were allegedly involved in the illegal distribution of controlled drugs.
